The dreaded 30!

Well, It's come and gone and I'm still alive! I've survived turning 30! It's hard to say why I've dreaded this number, but I'll just say that I'm gonna blame my Dad! You would think it would get easier as the years went on without him, but for me...It's the opposite! I think that the older I get the worse I miss him. And maybe that's because my kids are getting older and doing more things that he's missing out on...well, here on earth! I know he watches us from Heaven, but it's just so hard without him!!!!!

Sorry for the rant...I get really sappy and teary on birthdays...

On to something lighter! I had a WONDERFUL birthday! First with the bowling party and then dinner at Sumo on Saturday and then the actual day (today)(June 9th). I was able to get out of the house without the kids and have a facial, which was great!!!! I couldn't be more blessed with the family God gave me! My Mom and Amy (sis-in-law), put together a memory book of my life! It was so great to see a lot of old pictures with my brother and I and my Dad of course. Grant was very thoughtful in his gifts as well!

Silent Sunday

30th Birthday Party

I am totally blessed to have such great friends!!!!!! I threw a birthday party for myself this past Friday and had a BLAST! We went bowling at The Alley! I don't really bowl, but wanted to do something fun that wasn't a whole lot of money. So many friends came and this was truely one of my best birthdays! The actual day isn't until Tuesday, but what the hey! You gotta do something fun when you turn those big numbers in life! I really dreading it!

Swim lessons!

We're back to swim lessons with Ms. Linda again this summer. This is our 3rd summer! I can't believe that our first summer I was pregnant with Cole! (And I'm still wearing my maturnity swimsuit...what does that tell you!?) My kids are total fish in the pool! Morgan is actually in the bigger kid class and is excelling! The first summer she wouldn't even look at Linda and now she's thowing her arms around her and all! Cole is in the parent/child class and is loving it as well...thank goodness because I HATED swim class as a kid!

(I must not of taken any of Cole for some reason...next week!)

More Summer Fun!

We took a trip out to our friends' house a couple of weekends ago and they had bought their kids a FREAKING HUGE waterslide!!!!! The kids had a blast! It's always so great to get together with friends you haven't seen in a long time! We need to do this more...the life of a band director is busy..."you know what I'm sayin..huh, huh?"
