5 years old (and one month)

Morgan,

It's hard to believe that a month ago you turned 5! Where has the time gone? Next week you'll start Kindergarten and that statement alone makes me sad. It's hard to believe that my baby girl is growing up and SO fast. You've become quit

e the young lady. Very sassy and stubborn, but also very sensitive and kind. I know that Cole is irritating and gets into your things, but that's what baby brothers do. You'll find that they're worth having around! You have a lot of your Pepa Frazee's qualities about you. Smart and funny....very quick witted! I know he would ADORE you! These past 5 years haven't been the easiest. Your asthma and hospital visits have been a real pain, but you handle it VERY well! We'll soon be moving and up-rooting your life again, but I know you take things in stride and adjust!

Thank you for all of the wonderful hugs and kisses on a daily basis! I know sometimes we're mad at each other, but that's the great thing about being mother and daughter....it doesn't last long! I hope that we can have the same closeness that your Mema and I have. I know we will!

Colorado Day 1, 2010 (backpost June)

On our first day out in Colorado, the kids wanted to do EVERYTHING! They are super busy little buggers! We managed to keep them busy with the filling in of the driveway, painting, play dough and then a camp fire. It seems like this isn't a lot, but on vacation, it is! And this was just the first day after arriving at 2am!

Dancing with the Star!

Morgan had her dance recital a couple of weeks ago. She loves dancing and has so much fun doing it! We were lucky enough to have Amy come back and take pictures for us! She's very talented and I'm so grateful for taking these! The dance may not go off like I would like, but she just looks so darn cute out there! I had a hard time choosing which pictures I wanted to post, so there's a few! I'm so proud of my little star!

Silent Sunday

We found our water slide and it's dirty...but works all the same. It's officially summer!

Happy Birthday Dad!

Happy 54th Birthday Dad! I wish you were here to celebrate with us. We may not talk about you as much, but that doesn't mean you're in our hearts any less. As much as I HATED being tortured, I would take it now just so you could be here. I hate that you're not getting to know the kids and Grant even...I know they (the kids) would just adore you. I hate that Mom doesn't have you to talk to. It's just sucks all around.

We visit Grandma and Grandpa as much as we can. The kids love them! I hate that you don't know Amy. She's so good for Jake and she's the sister I would have asked for!

We miss you Dad. I miss you.

I didn't mean for this post to turn out so sad...but that's what happens when I get on a roll. So Happy Birthday in heaven....

Spring Preschool Program 2010

These two ladies have been Morgan's teachers this year. Mrs. Lori and Mrs. Michelle. I can not thank them enough for the love they have given my girl. Michelle has been Morgan's 'preschool' teacher for 2 years now, but has been with her since she was a year old. My heart just aches knowing that next year, when she's in Kindergarten, that even though Maize is a good school, it just won't be the same. There will be no prayer or hugs and kisses from the teacher. There will be more kids in class, so that means not as much attention. This is a part of growing up, but I guess I wasn't ready for it so soon. Thank you Eastminster Preschool for taking such good care of my precious daughter....now just wait until next year when Cole gets there! Good luck with that! I'm glad she's been a part of such a special school. And made such great friends!

After the program, Grant had to go back to work, so the kids and I went to The Good Egg for breakfast! It was a great end of school treat!

Worlds of Fun

Grant takes his middle school kids to Worlds of Fun for a music festival every year. We went the first year and I think the second, but I haven't had the desire to take both kids since then. We finally decided that they were old enough to enjoy it. (and the free tickets and school car were good too! ;-) WOF is really a great place for the kids. They can ride the rides by themselves and that means no rollercoasters for me! Yeah! I think Cole and I rode the train about 4 times with Grant and Morgan rode some of the 'big kid' rides. Totally fine with me! We all had a great time and I'm sure we'll be going back next year...who could pass up the free tickets!?
