Our trip to Winfield, KS

The Whitcomb's and the Omenski's took a little field trip to Winfield, Ks this past Friday. There is this pretty cool park there that we thought we should visit on a relatively nice July day! It was well worth the 40 minutes with 5 kids in the car! My friend Nikki is one of those people that just doesn't sit still and she likes to take us along a lot of the time, which is great because I would sit around on my rear all day! I guess this park was burned down by some idiot kid and they rebuilt it this past spring. There is also, just down the way from the park, a water park/pool. It's super cheap and it's a must the next time we go in a couple of weeks. We would love to have company next time...

The kids LOVED IT!!!!

Band Office clean up

Grant has a new adventure this year. He'll be co-directing the Maize High School band program with Bryan Kirk. This is a pretty big undertaking considering the last band director burned all of his bridges with EVERONE! I'm so glad Grant has been around, so the kids know him and seem to really like him. One of the first orders of business was to get rid of the horrible cow/cow spots. Of course they boys don't seem to know HOW to paint, so I ended up painting myself. I know that the pictures don't reflect this last statement, but it's true! They seem to be working hard, but it's more like sitting around chit-chatting!
I'm pretty excited about this HS takeover...mainly because I get to work with the drum majors. I guess it's nice to know that I'm not just a wife and mother/housekeeper and babysitter. Now, don't get me wrong, I LOVE LOVE LOVE being at home with the kids, but it is nice to be able to use my skills in something that I'm good at!

And of course while we were there, the kids got bored and asked to get INSIDE the band lockers. They LOVE the band lockers!! I only wish we had these at home!! ;-)

6 years...

Well, six years ago we got married! Holy smokes....six years! It has been quite a ride since the summer of 2003. I feel so blessed to have married Grant. I may not be the easiest person to live with, but he doesn't complain much and I really love that!!!

This is us on our wedding day and us now! I feel aged! And old, but that's how it goes right?!

Birthday Party

We had a birthday party for the girl this weekend. Morgan has a lot of little friends though my work and my friends. I love having friends with kids in the same age range! We had a bbq with friends and a small pool and waterslide for the kiddos! Everyone seemed to have a good time even if there wasn't any wind and the humidity was OUT OF CONTROL! We really have some friends and are so thankful for them all, even the ones who couldn't make it! We need to get together more often, but that's easier said then done! Thanks for coming everyone and for the great gifts for Miss Morgan!

Little Ari!!!

This is what Cole did most of the time at the party!

4 year old girl!

Morgan went to KDO on her birthday and brought cookies for her class! Oh, and got to be the line leader!

She wanted a Rainbow cake, so we made one! It was so good!!!!

Here it is!

She got a lot of Princess things!

Cole loves to have his toes painted! What a good big sister!

My Princess

My baby girl turned 4 today! I think it's funny that everytime a birthday rolls around that the Mom always recalls the day of their baby's 'birth'! Of course, I'll never forget Morgan's birth. We went in around 6am and I was being induced. I was TOTALLY petrified of giving birth and just about passed out the day before when the Dr. said I was coming in in the morning! It was quite the nightmare of a day.... 14 hours of labor, 3 pumps in my epidural (no take), residents checking my progress and then at 11pm, I was told that I was going in for a C-Section...ahhh, relief! I was put completley under because the epidural never took...fun! Out she came at 11:31! What a beautiful baby she was. And now she's 4! And soooooo sassy!!!!!

We don't do any 'traditions' on the kids birthdays, but we always try and make it the best one! And I think we do ok!

Even if she's the sassiest thing on the block, I think God for her EVERY SINGLE DAY! She's my angel that was sent to us in a time when we really needed something to look forward to! I will thank the Lord everyday of my life for that reason alone!

July 4th 2009

Here is our 4th in a nut shell....They have matching outfits! Cute huh? We did fireworks out side until it was dark and the went to the river to watch the fireworks downtown. In between those times, I made homemade fried chicken! It was a good holiday!
